Fifa World Cups

Hi world,I have another blog for you today and im sure you know from the title that it is about Fifa world cups.So lets get this under way. The first Fifa world cup started in the year 1930 and it was hosted by Uruguay.Ever since the year 1930 there has been a World cup hosted every 4 years by a different country except for two years.In the years 1942 and 1946 there was no world cups hosted by any countries because of the Second World War so after the 1938 world cup there wasn't another world cup until 1950.Besides that, there have been a number of great moments in world cup history especially for Brazil as they are the most successful country winning the tournament 5 times and coming runner up twice with their last win coming in the year 2002 beating Germany 2-0 in Japan.The current winners of the world cup is Spain after winning the 2010 tournament in South Africa with Andres Iniesta scoring the winning goal.The next world cup will be hosted by Brazil in 2014 and so far 32 countries will be participating but there is speculation that it could be boosted to 40 countries.In my opinion the best ever world cup was the 2006 world cup hosted by Germany because the final went all the way to penalties between France and Italy with Italy winning 5-3.There was also a very entertaining moment in the final with legend Zinedine Zidane headbutting Materazzi for a reason I do not know!The link following is just a link to the fifa world cup official website http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/ What is your favourite moment in world cup history?Leave your answer in the comments below and until the next blog,Cya.

Stadiums around the World!

Hi everyone its me again!Todays blog is about two of my favourite stadiums around the world.So im gonna start with my favourite stadium in the world the"aviva stadium" which is the main stadium in Ireland.The Aviva stadium was once called the famous Landsowne road.The Aviva stadium first opened on the 14th of May 2010 and for football matches it has a capacity of about 50,000 people.Just to say the Aviva stadium is where the Republic of Ireland play football and also rugby.If you want to find out more information about the aviva stadium I would suggest you to visit their website: http://www.avivastadium.ie/. The other stadium that I really like is elland road the home of the best team in the world Leeds United!Elland road has a capacity of about 38,000 people and is proudly the 19th biggest stadium in Britain which is actually very good.My most memorable match in Elland road is when Leeds United THRASHED Manchester United 5-0 on the 20th of December 1930 which is a very special moment in Leeds United history.Elland Road is located in West Yorkshire in England and was founded in the year 1919.This was just a short blog giving some information about my two favourite stadiums and the video following just shows what Elland road looks like.This video was taken from youtube.Enjoy!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl_1pjUPm0k

Main Cup/Tournament in the main footballing countries

Whats up everyone? Today's blog is about the main Cups or Tournaments in the main footballing countries.So the first country we are going to go with is Italy.I believe that the main tournament in Italy is the"Coppa Italia" which started in the year 1922.Unlike other countries the "Coppa Italia" has been won by a lot of teams,instead of one team completely dominating it.The most successful teams in this tournament has been Juventus and Roma winning it 9 times each. Now lets go to England.The main tournament in England is the" FA cup" which started in the year 1871.As kind of expected the most successful team in the FA cup is Manchester United winning the tournament 11 times.The team that won the FA cup last year was Wigan Athletic beating Manchester City 1-0 with Ben Watson scoring a header in the final moments in the game. The next country I am going to talk about is Spain the best country in the world at football in my opinion.The main tournament in Spain is the "Copa del Ray" which started in the year 1903.As you might think the most successful team in this tournament has been Barcelona winning it a whopping 26 times.Last year Atletico Madrid won the "Copa Del Ray" beating Real Madrid 2-1 with Miranda scoring the winning goal which was decided in extra time. The last country I am going to talk about is Germany.The main tournament held in Germany is the "DFB-Pokal" which started in the year 1935.The most successful team in this tournament is Bayern Munich who have won this tournament 16 times.Last year Bayern Munich won it again beating VfB Stuttgart 3-2 with Mario Gomez scoring the third goal for them.Thats it,Thanks for reading!

Favourite Players across the globe!

Hi,How are ya?For today's blog I will be sharing my favourite players across the globe and I will give some reasons why I like them.So to start, one of my favourite players in the Barclays Premier League is the legend Yaya Toure.He is a typical player in the Premier league;big,strong and fast and he uses all these skills very well.Yaya plays for Manchester City in the premier league and he plays in the heart of their midfield like myself for my local football club.Yaya was born in Ivory Coast in the year 1983 and started his footballing career in 2001 and from that day he has literally been a walking tank!

Now a different league....Lets go all the way to the Serie A in Italy.My favourite player in the Serie A is the man,the myth,the legend Mario Balotelli.Now I can give countless lists of reasons why I adore this guy but a few reasons is his talent but also his attitude on the pitch,I just think he's hilarious.Mario currently plays for AC Milan.Balo was born in Palermo,Italy in 1990 and he started his senior career in 2006.To conclude this small paragraph on Mario,He is a Legend!!

Now the last player I'm going to mention is probably the best player ever to live Lionel Messi.Lio plays in Spain for the Spanish giants FC Barcelona and he is their main striker.Messi was born in Argentina in 1987 and his senior career started in 2003 for FC Barcelona's C team.The main reason why I love this player is that he is very enjoyable to watch but he is just so so good and I envy his talent.Hopefully he stays fit so he can keep entertaining me!

Styles of Play

Hello again,this blog is about the styles of play in two of the biggest countries in the world,England and Spain. Firstly with England and the Premier League.People find the style of play in England the most enjoyable to watch as it is very fast paced and action packed.In the Premier league the players are a lot more direct then other leagues which means the players don't rely on possession to win matches and score goals,instead there is a lot of running at the opposition and a lot of long balls and crosses which in my opinion is a very effective method.In England the players are generally very big and tough which also adds a rougher edge to the style of football in England which a lot of people enjoy watching.In Spain the style of football is generally different to the style in England.A lot of Spanish teams in the liga BBVA use the style of tika taka which is "the style of play in football characterised by short passing and movement,working the ball through various channels and maintaining possession" which in my opinion is a very enjoyable style of play to watch but I think it is less effective then the direct route.A great example of a Spanish team that plays possession football is FC Barcelona.Possession football is effective as it tires your opponent down as they have a lot of running off the ball so cracks start to appear in their defence which the very best teams for example Barcelona can attack at ease.So to conclude this blog there is a couple of very effective styles of play that are very enjoyable to watch that we can clearly differentiate across the globe.Here are two videos showing the two different types of styles.Enjoy!
